Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Eastern Regional Medical Center is introducing a radiation breakthrough that treats breast cancer patients in one day, as opposed to the current average of six weeks. CTCA will become the first in the country to offer this treatment option using the Novac7 technology from Rome, Italy.

Let’s Get Together Monday, Feb. 22nd 6:30-8:00pm, Wellness Center, Blue Ash

For those of you in the Greater Cincinnati area let’s get together for an evening of encouragement and getting to know each other. This is a general Pink Ribbon Girl meeting where we can share our experiences and make friends. I have found it so important over the years of battling this disease to connect with other survivors to both learn from them and give encouragement to others. Now, some of my best of friends were found through Pink Ribbon Girls. So, I encourage you to join us at The Wellness Center on Monday, Feb. 22nd, 6:30pm – 8:00pm; no RSVP required just come if you can make it. We’ll be meeting in the living room which is straight ahead when you come in the front door. There is also a Yoga class immediately preceeding from 5:30pm-6:20pm. For directions click here to get to The Wellness Center’s website.

Meet the New PRG Vice President!

Hello Pink Ribbon Girls!

I am a survivor of 7 years and 3 years from each time I’ve been diagnosed.  I joined PRG in 2002 as I faced my first diagnosis of Breast Cancer at a meager 24 years of age.  Although I lived in Dayton, OH when first diagnosed I was so inspired by the women who came forward to lend a helping hand.  Today these women make up many of my best friends, and I know I could not have found such a great support system if it weren’t for PRG.  In 2006 I experienced the rare post-mastectomy local recurrence, and the hardships that came along with enduring chemotherapy, radiation, and finding myself a newly single mother of a very energetic 3 year old.  I absolutely could not have gotten through this alone…  I fortunately have relocated back to Cincinnati, and I am so excited to be joining PRG’s leadership and look forward to helping this great organization continue to bridge the gap in cancer support and care for young women all across the nation.

When I’m not working with PRG, I lead the Springdale Girl Scouts Daisy Troop with my two 6yr-old daughters, and I am a consumer reviewer for the Jocelyn Whitfield Banks and Her FamilyDepartment of Defense and their Breast Cancer Research Program.  Research is very near and dear to my heart and I believe that WE WILL find the cure in the next decade.  Prior to joining PRG as Vice President I am a co-founder of Sisters Network Cincinnati, co-founder and president of Sisters Network Dayton, and a founding member of the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio (Ohio’s Pink Ribbon License Plate).  Please feel free to email me at any time if you have any questions or comments for me.  Thanks So Much!
